Adoré Brings Sin City to South Beach
by Julia Ford-Carther
Miami may be known for its impressive nightlife, but Cy Waits knows there’s room for more. Waits, whose credits include the ultra-club XS at Encore Las Vegas, sees an opportunity in Miami’s megaclub market. The end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014 will welcome in Adoré Nightclub, his first entry in the local club culture.
Tucked in next to the Boulan Hotel, the cavernous 12,000-square-foot space is positioned to “inject some fresh energy” into the outlying South Beach stretch of Collins Avenue. In order to execute his vision of an elevated, indulgent, tastefully wicked experience, explains Waits, “this requires total integration between the elements”—from visuals like a custom 3-D LED sphere hovering above the dance floor and 100,000 watts of a progressive, high-fidelity sound system to an over-the-top design that expounds on the long-standing juxtaposition of sinner and saint.
“The vibe is so different here compared to other US party destinations like New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles,” Waits says. “Here, the nightlife really influences the city’s culture; people come here to party and the party becomes a lifestyle.”
Given his past late-night successes, Waits is primed to make some noise in Miami’s extravagant bottle-service industry, winning the adoration of Miami’s discerning party-goers. Open Thursday through Sunday evening from 10:30 pm until 5 am. 2000 Collins Ave., Miami Beach
