6th Street Dance Studio
What began in Little Havana as an underground dance hub has evolved into a non-profit urban dance university. 6th Street Dance Studio director Brigid Baker hopes to win the grant to expand the studio’s TruSchool initiative, a children's dance and culture program built on the five pillars of hip-hop. "The kids have nowhere to go. I think we are the only ones out there doing free classes like this," says Baker. [VIDEO]

Arts Garage
This Delray Beach storefront has become a breeding ground for multi-disciplinary, progressive art events for musicians, filmmakers, poets, and the like. Executive director Alyona Ushe aims to broaden these disciplines side-by-side and "build a fertile ground for our upcoming artists to flourish” if her group wins the grant. [VIDEO]

Founder and director Ever Chavez created FUNDarte to "produce, promote, and present high-level artistic performances in the Miami and the South Florida area." Were he to win the grant, Chavez would create three fresh, multicultural annual performances showcasing local talent. [VIDEO]

LAB Miami
Part art gallery and part entrepreneurial suite, LAB Miami serves as a workspace for business startups and creative thinkers. Its goal is to create a free mobile application to be brainstormed and produced during a weekend-long “hackathon” at its Wynwood outpost. [VIDEO]

Urgent, Inc.
Community-based organization Urgent, Inc. (an acronym for Urban Renewal Greater Enhancement National Team) exists to empower urban communities by offering innovative afterschool and transitional programs for children and adults. For its continuing outreach project, Urgent plans to showcase its young artists by muraling the walls of Overtown's historic Dorsey Park. [VIDEO]
