HBO’s The Notorious Bettie Page centers on the pin-up legend's entanglement in the Senate's 1955 investigation on pornographic materials. It chronicles her southern childhood, life in New York City, and relationships with photographers John Willie and Bunny Yeager. Wednesday, July 10, 3 p.m.
Rising Tide: A Story of Miami Artists
Rising Tide captures Miami's emerging artists and movers as they prepare for 2011's Art Basel in Miami Beach. Gallery owner Brook Dorsch, contemporary artist Jen Stark, and photographic animator Venessa Monokian are a few of the local standouts followed in the film. Rising Tide is a production of WLRN-TV and was funded in part by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Wednesday, July 24, 3 p.m.
Dale Chihuly, Short Cuts
Glassworks artist and structural innovator Dale Chihuly traveled the world seeking creative inspiration for over a decade while filming bits of his stops along the way. Dale Chihuly, Short Cuts strings his cinematic blurbs together, highlighting projects created in or inspired by Finland, Mexico, Ireland, and Chicago. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 3 p.m.
