As the official Champagne of Art Basel and Art Basel Miami Beach, Champagne Ruinart is taking its presentation cues from the Age of Enlightenment. The brand, which holds the honor of being the world’s oldest Champagne house, will exhibit a limited edition Miroir ice bucket created by French designer Hervé Van der Straeten in the Christofle Haute Orfèvrerie workshops during Art Basel Miami Beach.
Van der Straeten is world renown for his angular, handcrafted touch on home décor and women's accessories. He was inspired to create the Miroir ice bucket by the artful table service and Champagne accoutrement of the Age of Enlightenment. The reflective, silver-plated piece not only captures light, but also reflects the crisp hue of the Champagne it holds. Just 50 have been created.
You can see this elegant piece on display in the Art Collector’s Lounge at Art Basel Miami Beach, where it will be showcased amid a large, mirrored installation, along with a behind-the-scenes video on how it was made. You can also pick up one of the few Miroir buckets at Christofle in Bal Harbour (price on request). Each piece is packaged in a beautiful box with a silver-plated coaster and a bottle of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs. Christofle, 9700 Collins Ave., Bal Harbour, 305-864-0330
