Bunny Yeager’s byline runs on some of the most sensual and timeless images of the midcentury pinup era. Her path to icon status was paved with intimate self-portraits, and snaps of Bettie Page, Lisa Winters, and Bond girl Ursula Andress. Tonight, Yeager will embark on a new photographic journey by opening a permanent studio in Wynwood. The studio will house her latest projects and endeavors and cement her place in Miami, where she’s worked since the 1950s. And of course, there will be an exhibition space filled with the silhouettes and coy smiles that made her a household name. Those who flipped through Petra Mason’s recently published Bunny Yeager's Darkroom (Rizzoli, $60) will recognize some of the photos on view.
Tonight’s grand opening soirée (7 p.m.) will be presented in partnership with the Center for Visual Communication (CVC), with a cocktail reception and Lingerini (which specializes in lingerie and bikini hybrids) fashion presentation. Following the fête, Yeager will launch the CVC Miami Masters studio program, a new initiative that provides workshop and exhibition facilities to South Florida artists. 557 N.W. 27th St. and N.W. 5th Ave., Miami
