Eating in Season: September
It’s high time for corn, oysters, and tomatoes at Miami’s best restaurants.

Florida Corn at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar
Corn crop is synonymous with American fall feasts, and Yardbird chef Jeff McInnis is putting a three-way spin on this seasonal select. His grilled Florida corn is served with lightly fried hominy and crispy cornbread crumbles. 1600 Lenox Ave., Miami Beach, 305-538-5220; runchickenrun.com
Fried Oysters at Wynwood Kitchen & Bar
Devout oyster-lovers know that the briny mollusks are best during months ending in the letter “R,” and thus September is the kick-off to oyster season. Though plain or simply dressed with lemon or mignonette is a fine way to eat oysters, chef Miguel Aguilar of Wynwood Kitchen & Bar serves his fried oysters with a cool avocado purée and herb salad. It’s the perfect primer for other new dishes at the restaurant, such as adobo rubbed pork belly. 2550 N.W. 2nd Ave., 305-722-8959; wynwoodkitchenandbar.com
Almond Yogurt Cones at The Bazaar by José Andrés
Chef José Andrés likes to have fun with his food—nearly every dish in his repetoire has a clever, tongue-in-cheek spin. His varying "yogurts and cones" are famous, but for autumn, our favorite is the almond yogurt cone, which combines fresh almonds and über-seasonal tomato granite. 1701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 305-455-1845; sbe.com/thebazaar/south-beach
