Fish scale, red flying fish and blue flying fish prints from Strong Boalt
Amanda Boalt grew up in Palm Beach, arguably one of the stalwarts of tropical, preppy style. Mix in some time spent working for Ralph Lauren’s menswear division, and it all adds up to a winning combination for setting sail her own ocean-inspired line of men’s swim trunks. Strong Boalt board shorts bring the classic men’s shorts back with a modern burst of bright colors and patterns inspired by the sun-kissed, sandy lifestyle experienced on the beaches of Florida and the Caribbean. This is the second season for Boalt, whose latest line was inspired by a trip to the Bahamas. “I was not finding any inspiration for prints until a last-minute trip to one of my favorite places, Cat Cay," she says. "The ocean and the Bahamas will always be a source of inspiration for me. Check out more of the collection on March 5 (9 PM) at a Strong Boalt fashion show held at the Mondrian South Beach. (RSVP to SunsetLounge.Rsvp@MorgansHotelGroup.com.) Mondrian South Beach, 100 West Ave., Miami Beach
