Louis Vuitton officially unveiled its new Aventura Mall maison with a well-attended fête last Thursday. Designed by architect Peter Marino, the stunning, bi-level store flaunts a rotating exhibition space, exclusive craftsmen services, leather goods, men's and women's ready-to-wear, accessories, and jewelry. A take-notice spiral staircase is accented by a Jorgé Pardo wall sculpture, and a video installation by the maison’s featured artist, Janaina Tschape, greets shoppers upon entrance.
Meeting the requirements of Miami's international clientele, the Aventura maison boasts two customizable services, including the North American debut of Made to Order men's shoes. Already popular in Milan, London, and Shanghai, the bespoke service offers shoppers a choice of six classic shoe models with atelier stitching and perforations, four soles, three insteps, eight leathers, eight shades, and the added personalization of initials or digital embossing.
Meanwhile, women can take advantage of Louis Vuitton's Haute Maroquinerie customized handbag service. Bespoke options include five silhouettes in two varying sizes, a 26-shade color palate, and eight skins. Handbag styles offered are timeless and include the Noé, designed by Gaston Louis Vuitton in 1932 to carry Champagne; the Triangle, created in 1934 to carry knit works; and the Lock-it, a 1958 design with an extra secure closure.
