The City of Miami Beach is in the process of brainstorming a 52-acre Miami Beach Convention Center District. Proposals were submitted last week. Under consideration are new retail spaces, a hotel tower, and jungle-like landscaping. There’s also talk of bulldozing the Jackie Gleason Theater, adding residential buildings, and bringing in Cirque du Soleil. [Curbed Miami]

With 2012 earnings estimated at $45-$60 million, LIV Nightclub is the fourth highest grossing nightclub in America, according to Nightclub and Bar Media Group. In a list of 100 top clubs, LIV was the only non-Vegas spot to break the top five. [Crossfade]
