Boasting a celebrity chef, however, does not guarantee success here, as the likes of Emeril Lagasse, Govind Armstrong, David Bouley, Johnny Vinczencz, Mark Militello, Norman Van Aken, and Allen Susser all confirm. Daniel Boulud’s DB Bistro Moderne downtown and Scott Conant’s Scarpetta at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach have plenty of fans, as does Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak’s country club setting at Turnberry Isle Hotel & Resort, but you don’t hear much about Alfred Portale’s Gotham Bar and Grill. Michael Psilakis didn’t last at the Viceroy Miami’s Eos for very long, either.
