Luis Pons’ collection for the Hotel Guanahani & Spa in St. Barth’s evokes classical French Colonial style, though it’s much lighter, resonating with modern design sensibilities. As part of furniture showroom Luminaire’s outstanding lecture series, acclaimed designer Patricia Urquiola will present a lecture on February 3 to complement a new display of her work for B&B Italia. Expect a discussion of her varied influences and wide-ranging career. Lecture at 6 pm at Coral Gables Museum (285 Aragon St.) and reception at Luminaire Showroom (2331 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Coral Gables).
If you couldn’t make it to Design Miami, then don’t miss “Object of Desire,” the opening of Thais Fontenelle’s Inventory (Series 1) showcase. The presentation brings together Miami designers such as Mr. O, Daniele DiMonte and Victor Muniz in an environment where limited-edition pieces become accessible to the masses.
