Three Times a Lady Dior
This fabled handbag has a royal pedigree. It was originally designed by the house of Dior as a gift to Diana, Princess of Wales, in September of 1995, and was presented to her by Madame Chirac at the inaugural dinner of the Paul Cézanne exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris. The bag traveled with the Peoples’ Princess on her philanthropic trips around the globe, and was seen on her arm as she comforted a small child at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham and later as she arrived on a humanitarian tour of Argentina. By the time this signature cannage-textured bag appeared in stores, it was so identified with Diana’s look that Dior decided to name it for her. Crafted from supple lambskin in a classic silhouette, it is enlivened by a fun twist of colors. “Wow… to-die-for. What a perfect holiday gift,” says Stephanie Sayfie Aagaard, The Miami Herald columnist and the director of major gifts, corporate relations, marketing, and events for The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. “The colors are bold and strong, so it would be an ideal gift for that woman in your life who likes to make a statement. I believe this Dior piece complements almost any ensemble—the detail and texture stand alone and really pop. I can see any of my three sisters with it.”
