Stonework of Art
by Lyndsay McGregor
With a wide selection of natural stone and accessories from Europe, South America and the Caribbean, Opustone is the one-stop shop for anyone looking to take their home’s finishes to the next level of luxury. Eric Schigiel—the Miami-based company’s vice president and cofounder—tells us why.
OCEAN DRIVE: Your product line consists solely of imported stone. Why?
ERIC SCHIGIEL: We literally travel the globe searching for the newest trends, latest styles and most sustainable products. It’s a huge advantage for our customers to have a worldwide selection of stones at their fingertips in one convenient place.
What Opustone applications are the most common?
Every part of a customer’s home can be enhanced with beautiful stonework—from the kitchen and bath to the hallway and master suite. Living in Florida, our clients tend to spend a lot of time outdoors as well, so the desire for stone in pool and spa projects and outdoor kitchens and gardens is endless.
