The flutter of lights that enveloped the city during the recent holiday season has dimmed. We’re back to our daily routine—but you won’t find a frown on my face. You see, in Miami, our everyday lives take place in paradise. So forget about any grumbling over the “grind.” Miami truly is the Magic City, an often surreal burg that offers sunny skies, pristine beaches and, not least, an array of downright decadent after-dark soirées!
This month, Miami plays host to some of the most prestigious events on this side of the hemisphere. Expect a serious dose of old-world glamour with the launch of Palm Beach’s polo season. The popular polo events every Sunday in Wellington offer a great opportunity to enjoy a distinguished sport at a world-class venue. Ocean Drive will also be celebrating the spirit of St. Valentine with Glam Rock—we’re organizing an intimate girls’ night out featuring the brand’s edgy and fashion-forward watch collection. Not to be outdone, the Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail will be celebrating its 70th edition by showcasing the latest marine models throughout South Florida. And on the 24th, all of our foodie dreams will come true when the Food Network kick-starts the South Beach Wine & Food Festival. Now in its 10th year, this epicurean phenomenon has definitively graduated from a local food festival into a bona fide national attraction. Over four days, the star-studded celebration will highlight the world’s most renowned chefs and wine and spirits producers, as well as culinary personalities from across America. Bring your appetite!
Ocean Drive itself will be doing its best to deliver on the fabulous fête front: We’re celebrating our 18th anniversary this month with a party that—in traditional Ocean Drive style—will be sure to inspire more than a few awed reactions. Watch your mailboxes for details.
As always, see you around town!
