November means one thing: the official start of South Florida’s peak season. This year’s looks to be a fun ride already, and Ocean Drive promises to keep you in the loop on all the not-to-miss parties and galas. Starting the season with a bang, we’ve got the annual Make-A-Wish Ball at the InterContinental Hotel on November 5, followed by The National Medical Society of the Treasure Coast hosting its second annual black-tie fundraiser, An Evening in Monte Carlo, on November 19 in Palm Beach, which raises money for medical scholarships.
One of the events I’m looking forward to most is the 15th annual Best Buddies International Miami Gala at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach on November 18. The Viva Italia-themed event will feature a live performance by LMFAO, honorary chairman Brett Ratner, and celebrity guests including Nancy O’Dell and Carl Lewis, all benefiting efforts to create friendships and employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. Ocean Drive and all of Niche Media are more than honored to support this meaningful cause every year. Check out the News & Events section of its website, bestbuddies.org, if you’re interested in attending.
With the unbelievable success the Black Eyed Peas continue to experience, we are thrilled to have Fergie on the cover of our November issue. I remember her incredible performance at our 2007 Super Bowl Party, and I personally can’t wait until November 23, when she joins the rest of the band for a concert at Sun Life Stadium. It may be their last one, but who knows? I look forward to seeing you around town as we welcome the start of high season.
