Miami can feel like a pinball machine of events, even before the “season” starts. That’s not such a bad thing when the events take the form of style-focused happenings, such as Ocean Drive’s Fall Fashion Week, which happens around town this month, and Fashion’s Night Out, which takes place from Aventura to Bal Harbour to the Gables, on September 6. Ocean Drive is partnering with the Village of Merrick Park and Neiman Marcus Coral Gables for this highly anticipated evening. We have quite a few other events in the works for September, so make sure you stop by oceandrive.com for all of the details.
I have to say, we here at Ocean Drive have a knack for spotting future stars just as their careers launch into the stratosphere. Case in point: our cover model, Nina Dobrev. Sure, she’s stunning, but she’s also the breakout star on the hit CW network series The Vampire Diaries (returning this fall for its fourth season), where she plays two women from two different centuries—dashing vampires have a soft spot for her no matter what year it is. She also has a much talked-about movie coming out this month, produced by John Malkovich, called The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It’s nice to know that Malkovich has taste as good as ours.
