OUT AND ABOUT
Best spot for culture: Anywhere during Art Basel Miami Beach
Best bites: Philippe at the Gansevoort—and not because it’s mine. It’s the truth, I’m addicted.
Flick: The Town (so happy Ben is back on top!)
Live music: My basement, where I play my drums with my iPodSport: Skiing, racquetball and any form of hockey
Jeans: Levi’s 514 straight leg
Footwear: Converse Chuck Taylors, no laces
Watch: Vintage Patek Philippe (no pun intended), Rolex Daytona and my Breitling aviators
Casual wear: Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers
Formal wear: Tom Ford, vintage Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana
Favorite item: My Dunhill tux. It’s the same kind that Truman Capote wore.
Necessary extravagances: Cashmere sweaters and socks, and amazing bed sheets
Cut: Cutler Salon at the Gansevoort Miami Beach
Cologne: Chanel Antaeus
Products: Dr. Brandt’s Lineless face cream, John Allan’s mint conditioner and Kiehl’s Facial Fuel line
Latest gadget: Every type of iPod, iPad, Mac mini… I’m an Apple head.
Car: Porsche Turbo Carrera, Cayenne and 911, and also my 1962 Mercedes-Benz 190 SLSL in mother-of-pearl blue (a color only produced in 1961 and 1962)
Ideal day: Set up a makeshift office with my Apple gadgets on the beach and stay until the sun drops
Fitness: Only David Barton Gyms for me, on South Beach at the Gansevoort Miami Beach
Mealtime: Lunch at News Cafe because it brings back incredible memories of Ocean Drive in the late ’80s and early ’90s when I first discovered South Beach. Prime One Twelve and The Forge for great steak.
Art hound: I make it my business to be in town for Art Basel, as collecting art and memorabilia is my new obsession.
