Roger Vivier's Latest Couture Accessories
By LAURIE BROOKINS
Bruno Frisoni looked to nature for his Spring/Summer collection for Roger Vivier. Seen through his fanciful eye, this means leopard-print haircalf sandals that wrap seductively around the foot, or paillettes forming a mosaic that resembles a slick cobra skin across the face of a clutch. And that’s just the ready-to-wear; Frisoni amped up the idea with his limited-edition couture pieces, such as the Boudeuse Adoubée au Boudoir shoe, seen here. Equal parts tribal and Asian, this entrance-making mule is punctuated with a burst of aged feathers. “I work with the great artisans of Paris: embroideries with Lesage or feather work with Lemarié,” he says. “When you share the passion of these artists, anything is possible.”
