Alexis’ love of water informs her work: “In another life, I was a mermaid,” she laughs.

With her Alexis line available at shop-alexis.com, this 24-year-old Cuban-American swim and ready-to-wear designer creates a South Beach-esque aesthetic through flowy fabrics and seductive shapes.

She’s also a pro at balancing showroom demands with motherhood. Her second baby is due in June, and she has a book and a children’s fashion collection in the works.

“I’m a workaholic and a perfectionist,” she admits. “In 10 years, I’ll still be juggling my hubby, kids and the Alexis empire.”
