It can be daunting to find the perfect gift for that special someone on your list, but Robin Levinson, co-owner of Levinson Jewelers in Fort Lauderdale, has options galore. After three decades, Levinson Jewelers has become one of South Florida’s most well-regarded distributors of top-of-theline jewelry and watches, offering a highly trained staff and experts in the fields of jewelry design and watchmaking. Here, Levinson shares what’s new in both her store and the everevolving worlds of fine jewelry and horology.
Moving on up Our location, in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, is ideal. Las Olas Boulevard is a great street to stroll, with some really fabulous restaurants and stores for an afternoon or evening of great shopping and dining.
Jewel tones We are very excited to introduce the Ivanka Trump Collection jewelry line and new Hermès watches this season, and have established a great partnership with South Florida’s own DJ Irie. We’ve created a jewelry line together called Peace Thru Music, with proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, and can’t wait for everyone to see it.
Unusual suspects It seems right now that people want very wearable, comfortable jewelry. Rose gold, especially, is extremely popular, often when mixed with white gold and platinum. I’m also seeing a lot of natural elements in jewelry design these days, materials such as exotic woods, as well as long chains and fun, playful, stylish watches.
Beyond time Aside from timepieces— which are always appropriate for a man or a woman—we also sell other great gift items, like frames from Jay Strongwater and pens and cuff links from David Oscarson.
The right stuff We have our own staff of jewelers and a highly capable watchmaker on the premises, allowing for quicker service and any opted-for custom design. We also deliver and ship anywhere and are quite resourceful: If there’s an item the customer wants that we don’t have in-store, we will do everything we can to locate it.
Wedded bliss Most of the men who visit the store seem willing to do whatever it takes to make their future brides happy on the big day. If they do have a specific price in mind, we work together to find the perfect stone to fit their needs. Right now we’re seeing a lot of different shapes and cuts that are beautiful either as a classic solitaire or the centerpiece of a setting with complementary side stones or a microsetting.
