Cochon 555 Comes to Four Seasons: The Miami edition of the pork-centric culinary competition, Cochon 555, makes its way to the Four Seasons Miami on Sunday, Feb. 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. Using a whole heritage breed pig, five local chefs will craft six dishes each to compete for the “Prince or Princess of Porc” title. Guests can sample the chefs’ dishes, taste vintage ales from Goose Island Beer Co., catch a live-butchering demo, and dine in a family meal with the chef teams. Chinese New Year Celebration at Hakkasan: Ring in the Year of the Horse with a family-style, prix fixe menu at Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s Hakkasan. Available from Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 31, the menu ($128 per person, two-person minimum) includes dishes such as salmon yusheng, braised duck stuffed in eight treasures, “jiaozi” boiled scallops with Chinese chive dumpling, and long life crispy noodles. To catch the full fête, stop by the Bleau Bar at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 for entertainment and a traditional Dragon Dance starting at the bar and ending at Hakkasan. Toro Pizzeria Pop-Up at Harry’s: The beloved pizzeria kicks off a new year of chef pop-up dinners on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. Guest chefs Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette—of Boston's wildly successful Toro restaurant—will prepare a four-course, family-style meal complete with a welcome cocktail, hors d’oeuvre, wine and tap beer, and parting gift. The brainchild of Oringer (a James Beard Award-winner) and Bissonnette (Food & Wine's 2011 Best New Chef), Toro is a tapas restaurant that specializes in Catalan cuisine. Menu Makeover at The Setai: Diners are in for a change at The Setai, whose restaurants have rolled out new menus highlighting Mediterranean and Asian cuisines. The new menu at The Restaurant at The Setai explores flavors of Europe’s “Sun Coast,” with dishes cooked à la plancha, while The Setai Grill steakhouse has added an Asian flair to its specialty steaks, like the new wagyu beef short ribs.
