Patpong Road Brings Bangkok to South Beach

The team at 50 Eggs delivers South Beach revelers a new weekend haunt in Patpong Road, located above Khong River House—just look for the red-lit staircase and license plate-covered door. The Friday and Saturday-only spot echoes Khong's textured décor, with a moody ambiance inspired by Thailand's Red Light District. Think hanging lanterns, red backlighting, and wood and brick accents; it's Bangkok with South Beach's sex appeal.
As for the menu, the Khong River kitchen churns out dressed up Thai street food like crispy minced pork balls, Thai donuts, and drunken rice noodles served in paper take-out containers. Likewise portable are the zip pouch cocktails, or "sippi bags," which mimic the plastic bag drinks commonly found in real Thai markets. The signature Laid-ee Drink is made with rum, fruit juice, and lime, while the spicier Kill B brims with gin, lemon, and white pepper-bird chili syrup. Couple the food and drink with weekend hours from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and a soundtrack curated by DJ Jessica Who and you have the perfect pre- or post-party spot for a drink and a bite.
