'Gatsby' Jewels Debut at Basel

Carey Mulligan wears a Tiffany & Co. headpiece in The Great Gatsby

Last year, Tiffany & Co. was commissioned to create the Art Deco accessories for the film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, set in 1925. The finished collection was unveiled at a VIP fête during Art Basel Miami Beach. Sharing in the spotlight was Rolls-Royce, with its fantastic Art Deco Collection fleet. While models dripping in platinum-set diamond and pearl necklaces, earrings, and bracelets modeled most of the film’s jewels, a stunning headpiece known as The Savoy—Gatsby’s signature accessory—got its own display. Worn by Carey Mulligan, who plays Daisy, the Native American-inspired headpiece with detachable brooch is a breathtaking tribute to the glamour and elegance of Gatsby and the roaring twenties.
