The Shore Club pool deck
In celebration of our nation’s 236th birthday (she’s still got it), we rounded up the four best ways to spend the day, from feasting at an all-American barbecue to frolicking poolside.
An Italian-American Barbecue at Bianca
The Delano's open-air terrace will be home to an Italian-American backyard barbecue and clambake, meaning succulent ribs, grilled lobster, and fresh oysters will all be on the menu. Bianca will also help patrons keep cool with the debut of its new white truffle ice cream. Patriotic festivities include a performance by the Joshua Stedman Band, as well as face painting for the kiddies. Admission is $75. 4-10 PM. 1685 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 305-674-5752; delano-hotel.com
Brother Jimmy's Barbecue and Rum Block Party
NYC-based barbecue bar Brother Jimmy's hasn't even opened in Miami yet, but they're making sure diners get a taste of what's to come. The upcoming Brickell locale is teaming with Sailor Jerry Rum to host an afternoon block party, complete with gratis pig roast and libations. New Orleans-based band Rockin Dopsie Jr. & the Zydeco Twisters will put on a courtyard jam session and guests will get a chance to peruse the soon-to-open restaurant. 4-10 PM. Mary Brickell Village, 901 S. Miami Ave., Miami; brotherjimmys.com
Rooftop Cookout on the Pool Deck at The Mayfair
The Mayfair's Rooftop Independence Day Party is serving up classic cookout favorites atop its stellar pool deck. The all-you-can-eat affair promises burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, honey baked beans, and more. Admission is $18.95 for adults and $12.50 for children. 6-9 PM. 3000 Florida Ave., Coconut Grove, 305-441-0000; mayfairhotelandspa.com
Pool Party at The Shore Club
The SoBe social pillar is joining up with Vitamin C to produce July 4th's One Nation Pool Party. DJ Triarchy and RS2 will keep bash beats bumping as onsite eatery Terrazza crafts $10 barbecue bites and frozen drink specials. Admission is $20. NOON–SUNSET. 1901 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 305-695-3226; shoreclub.com
We're behind the scenes with Marlins outfielder, who now has the largest contract in sports history.
