New Lunch Menu at Cafeina

Lengthy lines and back-to-back (or elbow-to-elbow) seating can make lunch outings feel more like a bumper car session than an afternoon treat. At Cafeina Wynwood Lounge the vibe is reliably calm during lunchtime, plus the food is great and there’s lots of intriguing art to appreciate. In the sunlit space, with airy, high ceilings and an eclectic playlist, you can enjoy a newly revamped lunch menu of classic dishes with a twist. For example, the restaurant’s new chicken piccata is served with a traditional white wine sauce, but tacks on a vegetable tower with a fried plantain base in place of the requisite mashed potatoes and vegetable sauté. The Cuban croquetta, meanwhile, is updated with velvety goat cheese, and an Italian semifreddo dessert is flavored with Colombian coffee. The portions, while satisfying, are sensible and won’t leave you feeling sluggish for the rest of your day. Stop by weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to try the new lunch menu—you can also call ahead and pick up for an above average takeout lunch. 297 N.W. 23rd St., Miami, 305-438-0792
