PAMM's Contemporaries Hit The Standard

The Pérez Art Museum Miami's (PAMM) social young patrons group, The Contemporaries, will welcome multimedia performance artists Los Jaichackers to The Standard Spa Miami Beach (40 Island Ave., Miami Beach) this Thursday, June 27. The "Friendraiser" fête doubles as PAMM's first official event, open exclusively to any new or resigned Contemporaries member.
West coast experimental duo Los Jaichackers consists of creatives Eamon Ore-Giron and Julio Cesar Morales, who are curating the evening's entertainment through electro-fused Latin American rhythms and video installations. Their moniker is a phonetically spelled derivative of the Spanish word for hijackers, a play on their desire to capture diverse cultural sounds and media content and meld it into a multi-medium experience. Come Thursday, the twosome will also be capturing footage for a larger scale project set to debut during PAMM's December unveiling.
Contemporaries will be among the first to experience PAMM's inaugural exhibitions, which are set to include pieces by Chinese social activist Ai Weiwei, Poland's Monika Sosnowska, and a diverse cast of Caribbean and Miami-based artists.
