The Caribbean Mule

The dapper cast of AMC’s Mad Men has helped usher in the return of 1960s dressing and drinking. Case in point: The Moscow Mule, one of the most popular cocktails of 1950s and 1960s, made with Russian vodka and ginger beer. It’s the perfect drink to toast this Sunday’s season six return of Mad Men, and we have just the recipe for it. Crafted by mixologist Damon Roseberry for Ketel One and the SLS Hotel, this Caribbean Mule has a hit of Falernum liqueur for sweetness. Also updated is the copper mule mug, replaced by a gin and tonic or rocks glass to display flower, clove, and lime garnishes. Check out Damon's recipe below and serve it to your friends for the ultimate Mad Men viewing party.  

The Caribbean Mule

1 ounce Ketel One Vodka
2/3 ounce Falernum liqueur
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
Ginger beer  

Fill a Boston shaker with ice and add Ketel One Vodka, Falernum, and lime juice. Shake vigorously and strain into a rocks or gin and tonic glass filled with fresh, large ice cubes. Top with ginger beer. Clove, flower, and lime garnish.
