Criselda Breene has one of the most enviable closets in Miami, but is always looking out for one statement item to make a subtle yet sexy impact on her wardrobe for the season. For fall, she immediately declared the Oscar de la Renta Renata bootie her number-one must-have.
“This shoe has such a fresh look,” Breene says. “It’s very sexy but reasonably elevated—the heel’s just under four inches—so you can walk around. I like an edgy shoe, and this one is definitely it.”
Breene, as an active philanthropist and supporter of many Miami initiatives, local businesses, and charities, explains she needs something in which she can easily go from event to event. “I can basically wear it anywhere. It can be dressed up or down and has an attitude, so wherever it goes, it’s going to make a statement,” she says.
Part of the pleasure in owning a piece from Oscar de la Renta comes from the unique shopping experience the store at Bal Harbour offers. “Dante, the store manager at Oscar de la Renta on Collins, is really attentive and not pushy. He shows you options without you feeling pressure to like anything,” Breene says. “Lately, Oscar has been a cool place for awesome footwear. Every time I wear a pair [of his shoes], I receive so many compliments. But what I like the most is that it’s still a ‘secret’ place where I can go to get fabulous shoes that look unique and not everyone is wearing them—yet!”
