New World Symphony's 25th anniversary season made a spectacular debut earlier this month, and now, Miami's classical music hub will welcome its first set of mini-concerts this Friday and Saturday (November 2-3). Conducted by Joshua Gersen, these 30 minute performances will feature brisk works by Beethoven and Rimsky-Korsakov. A new number will commence at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m. on both nights and tickets to each performance are a mere $2.50. To round out the evening, New World has partnered with Lincoln Road restaurants Van Dyke Cafe and Tiramesu to offer special three-course prix fixe menus ($17.50 per person) for ticketholders. Symphony and supper? Sounds like a swell date-night to us.
