Chef Sean Brasel is doing National Burger Month justice with a handful of patties for every palate, from American wagyu and smoked short rib to ground buffalo. The Spillover may have just opened last week but if anyone has achieved farm-to-table burgerdom, it's Matthew Kuscher at sister joints Kush and LoKal. And while The Spillover might be a seafood shack, it wouldn't be a Kuscher restaurant without a proper burger: Enter the bababooey burger, or described by Kuscher himself as, "By far the best burger of any of our restaurants." Every year, Michael Mina 74 ups the ante for burger month with previous years proffering everything from a salmon and spicy tuna burger to a chili mac 'n' cheese and chorizo frita. This year, vegetarians can rejoice in the vegetable mille feuille, which showcases smoked eggplant, tomato, grilled zucchini, and mozzarella cheese between cloudlike buns. The last thing you'd expect from a place called Sugar Factory is a burger dubbed, "the big cheesy," yet that's exactly what you'll get from one of seven new over-the-top burgers.
