How does La Metamorfosi maintain the brand’s DNA while moving toward the future?
La Metamorfosi refers to the direction Alfa Romeo is headed, the change. It addresses not only Alfa Romeo’s future as a pure-electric automaker in 2027 but to do so while remaining true to the Alfa Romeo brand. It also reflects our expansion of product with five new vehicles coming in the next four years, and the all-new Tonale is spearheading the effort. Lastly, the transition is about our customers and creating new vehicles and technology that creates interest in a wider range of Alfistis.

Tell us about the incorporation of the NFT token. Why was this integrated, and how does this represent the future of the automobile industry?
Alfa Romeo is the first automaker to integrate an NFT with a vehicle. We see the technology as an opportunity to improve the Alfa Romeo owner experience. When linked to a vehicle, an NFT helps to conveniently store vehicle records, no matter where a customer travels in a secure fashion. The owner can easily share the vehicle’s information and service records with other dealerships and, when the time comes, use the information to prove how well they cared for the car, which greatly improves resale value.

Tell us about some of the technological highlights of the vehicle.
Within the auto industry there are some key hot spots of interest, and the Alfa Romeo Tonale touches on each.
- A plug-in hybrid powertrain with more than 30 miles of pure electric range, meaning most people can accomplish their daily commutes without ever tapping the fuel tank and do so with zero emissions. Tonale is part of the company’s Dare Forward 2030 campaign. In fact, Alfa Romeo will be all battery-electric in 2027, globally.
- Driver assistance systems with a number of features to help drivers navigate in style like adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, as well as a hands-on Level 2 autonomy system that will keep the vehicle centered in a lane and handle acceleration and braking events in traffic.
- Features a Uconnect 5, our award-winning connectivity system on a best-in-class 10-inch center touchscreen and 12-inch driver’s cluster screen. Occupants can access wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ask Alexa a question or even wirelessly charge their phone in the center console.

Who is the target audience?
Alfa Romeo is the youngest of the premium automotive brands. We have an incredible following and we want to build the tribe with a millennial focus. Also, our new products, starting with the Tonale, will reach a greater, more gender-neutral audience. Alfa customers have always expected driving performance, and we don’t want to lose that. Our move toward greater electrification will stay true to Alfa Romeo and bring in more buyers with tech-savvy offerings. Alfa Romeo owners love life and are looking for something more exclusive. It’s a certain type of lifestyle. Think of an upscale, black-tie restaurant—the Alfa Romeo owners will be wearing a bright blue suit or a stunning red dress.
