Olivia Notoni, Founder and CEO of Finatics, has always felt a strong connection to sharks and we are so thankful she decided to act on this love. She has utilized her creativity by producing cute and comfy pieces of clothing and trendy accessories, all catered towards her infamous shark designs while also giving back to these animals.
Olivia Notoni is a 23 year old business owner and entrepreneur who is making a difference through her company. In highschool, everyone knew that she loved sharks – those creatures were a passion of hers from the very beginning. After studying abroad in Australia during the beginning of 2020, Olivia’s connection and pull towards the ocean and protecting it grew even stronger. After she returned, an internship she had lined up with the Red Soxs was cancelled due to Covid-19 and she found herself wondering how to fill her time. She remembered growing up and learning about shark finning, a serious issue that not only kills millions of sharks but negatively affects the world around us. She realized “there was never really a brand to help stop shark finning or to promote or raise awareness of it.” This is when the gears started turning in Olivia’s head, and she decided to create a brand that summer that is not only profitable, but also gives back to sharks.
Finatics was then officially launched in August 2020. Now, a percentage of Olivia’s profits from Finatics are donated to their partner Shark Allies, an organization that works to stop all kinds of shark harm. “It is definitely crazy but I am insanely grateful that I do get to do this and that it is making a difference,” she said.
Finatics is a brand that reflects the comfy streetwear that we all know and love, with a little bit of ocean flare. They offer a range of clothing items from sweatpants, sweatshirts, sweatshorts, t-shirts, all sporting creative and eye-catching shark inspired designs. One of her most popular products is her Protect the Locals Hoodie, a trendy sweatshirt that sports the words inside the infamous shark mouth. Olivia also creates amazing accessories including trucker hats, beanies, tote bags, phone cases, stickers, and keychains, allowing you to support sharks any way you would like. Jewelry is also available at Finatics, a collection of bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and ankets that all have that must-need sharky vibe.
Olivia has thought of everything you may want and need to support sharks and all of her products are skillfully crafted by her. She comes up with all of the designs and is excited by all of the positive feedback she gets back. “I really like creating. Growing up I always did a lot of arts and crafts stuff so I feel like being able to design my own clothing and coming up with fabrics, creating something and having someone else buy it and like it is one of my favorite things so far,” she said.
As such a young business owner, Olivia is excited to see where Finatics will take her. “It's kind of surreal. It was never something that was a crazy dream to me, I just never thought it would come together before I even graduated college”. Olivia was raised by entrepreneurial parents, so this goal of having a successful business of her own seemed very doable to her. Although, her business is different from others as it gives back to the growing needs of the ocean.
Be on the lookout for Olivia’s creations and hopefully some pop-ups soon to come. Her mission is amazing and of course she has some of the best products to back it up. Go to shopfinatics.com to help save the sharks!
