Shore Club South Beach Launches ‘Sunny Side Up' Pool Party Series
Shore Club will officially launch ‘Sunny Side Up,’ an after-brunch pool party series that will take place every Sunday around the chic Shore Club Pool area. Jazz at MOCA
The Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) is proud to feature renown jazz musicians as part of its monthly “Jazz at MOCA” series. Guests will dance under the stars to the soulful sounds of a different performer on the last Friday of every month. Fulano, Cuban-born singer and songwriter, was raised in New York City, and currently resides in Miami. “Tracing the Red Thread” by Mira Lehr
TheMuseum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) North Miami will present the exhibition “Tracing the Red Thread,” by distinguished South Florida-based artist Mira Lehr through Nov. 4, 2018. The multimedia, museum-wide installation will reflect Lehr’s eco-feminist philosophy, the concept of mankind working with nature rather than dominating over it. Lehr uses the classical myth of Ariadne to explore the beauty, fragility and interconnectedness of the endangered aquatic ecosystem of the South Florida coast. Jazz at MOCA x Nestor Torres
MOCA is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a unique performance by GRAMMY Award-winning Artist Nestor Torres as part of its monthly “Jazz at MOCA” series. National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 and recognizes Hispanic and Latin American heritage and culture. As a flautist, Torres has found inspiration in classical, Cuban, rock, and jazz sounds resulting in a rhythmic and mellifluous flute sound that has become a music genre all by itself. Torres has produced 14 recordings as a solo artist and has been nominated for four Latin GRAMMYS and one GRAMMY nomination, and has won one the Latin GRAMMY Award for his CD “This Side of Paradise.” Torres has collaborated with diverse cultural icons such as Gloria Estefan, Kenny Loggins, and Dave Mathews, as well as performances with Cleveland, Singapore, and New World Symphony Orchestras.
