Miami Heat Captain and three-time NBA Champion Udonis Haslem will return to host this year’s Anatomy #HourPushUpChallenge in support of the Udonis Haslem Foundation and Make-A-Wish Southern Florida.
The event, which kicks off on Dec. 18 at Anatomy Coconut Grove, will serve as the sixth annual challenge. Members of the Anatomy community and guests are invited to do as many pushups as possible within one hour. Each participant will collect monetary donations before the challenge begins, and the money raised will go on a per-pushup basis, and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Udonis Haslem Foundation and Make-A-Wish Southern Florida—Udonis Haslem Foundation helps enrich local underserved communities, and Make-A-Wish Southern Florida grants the wishes of local children.
Last year’s #HourPushUpChallenge raised more than $215,000; a goal Haslem hopes to exceed this year.
“I'm very excited for year two of the #HourPushUpChallenge. We had a great time last year giving back to the community,” shares Haslem. “A lot of people came together for a cause that they believed in, and we were able to make great things happen. We hope this year we raise over our goal of $350k and go even bigger!"
Norm Wedderburn, the president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, expressed his gratitude for those involved in the event and Haslem’s continued support and involvement.
“The determination and hard work of all of the participants and organizers means that many more children will get to experience a wish come true,” said Wedderburn.
Notable attendees include pillars of the Miami community such as Marc Megna, Chris Paciello and more. The event will also celebrate Haslem’s charitable efforts as he enters his 20th and final season for the Miami HEAT.
