As the Jewish community prepares for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and Yom Kippur, the Days of Atonement, chef Sam Gorenstein put together a menu to honor traditional dishes while adding a touch of his Colombian and Syrian family dishes. Combining different flavors, spices and ingredients, the curated menu strays from the conventional brisket and potato pancakes while promising a delicious meal.
Each holiday has its own menu for customers to choose from, showcasing Gorenstein’s take on the high holidays. Desserts by Hedy Goldsmith are included in the menus, elevating the culinary dining experience and making your holidays sweeter.
With hopes of spreading his love for his family and their traditions during the holidays, Gorenstein delicately crafted each menu for South Florida Jews to taste and form new traditions.
The South of Fifth restaurant fuses the flavors of Tel Aviv, Colombia, Syria and Miami, all while honoring the great culinary heritage.
Rosh Hashanah runs Sunday through Tuesday, Sep. 25 to 27, while Yom Kippur begins sundown on October 4 and ends the following day.
