A lot of New Yorkers have bought property in Miami this year, seeking warm weather and refuge from the COVID-19 quarantine, but only one nabbed the most expensive penthouse ever sold in Surfside.

Arte is one of the most exclusive luxury condominiums in Miami. Inhabitants of the 12-story building enjoy seaside views, artful interiors and an impressive array of ammenities. Developed and concieved by Alex Sapir and Giovanni Fasciano, Arte was designed by Italian architect Antonio Citterio with a 75-foot indoor swimming pool, outdoor pool and beachfront meditation pond, rooftop tennis court, state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga studio, steam room, pet runway and more.

There are only 16 residential units in the building, and the 5-bedroom, 5.5-bath triplex is the crown jewel. The interior alone boasts 7,681 square feet, but it's the 6,260-square-foot terrace space with 360-degree views of Miami Beach and the Atlantic Ocean that steal the show. The home also includes a private rooftop lounge, 23-foot swimming pool, a wraparound pergola in Botanic Green Quartzite stone and full kitchnette.

The lavish home sold for an equally over-the-top $33 million. The New York buyer paid for it in cash, marking Miami Beach’s third most expensive penthouse sale in the last seven years, as well as the highest price-per-square-foot ever recorded in the Surfside neighborhood. Arte was represented by Tara West of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, the director of sales at the condominium, while Ryan Serhant of Serhant Group and Julian Cohen of Jills Zeder Group represented the buyer.

“We’re thrilled to have sold this penthouse at a record-breaking price for Surfside and Miami Beach,” Sapir is quoted in a press release. “Buying at Arte is like joining an exclusive club reserved for the domestic and international elite who place a premium on privacy, architecture and service, an experience that one can attain at the finest hotels and resorts around the world without the transient environment. We aimed to design a lifestyle that would allow for buyers to always feel like they’re on vacation, even if Miami is their permanent residence.”

While images of the triplex penthouse were not available by press time, we invite you to enjoy these jaw-dropping images of the building and its interior.
