Wilhelmina model Ava Jacus’ (@avajacus) career has taken her worldwide. Starting at just 10 years old while living in Hong Kong, Jacus continues to fall in love with the industry, taking the world by storm. Here, the blonde bombshell shares her advice for staying grounded, her beauty advice and what she hopes the future holds.

What is one beauty ritual you follow every day?

I realized as I got older that your skin needs its daily nutrients to glow from the inside out. I make a green smoothie daily with 1/4 avocado, 1/2 cup of mango, 1 cup of spinach, chia seeds, bovine colostrum, AG1 (greens powder) and almond milk. Since I started eating right, my skin and health have greatly improved.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Your mindset and thoughts influence everything. I always go into things with a positive mindset and attitude. I also write in my gratitude journal every day and have noticed that I am much more appreciative of the life God has given me.

What is something you can never overinvest in?

I love to invest time in reading, specifically self-exploration books. Right now, I’m reading The Untethered Soul. It’s helping me gain a new perspective on not getting caught up in the little things.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

I would describe myself as authentic, ambitious and curious. I am true to my genuine self and very eager to experience where my life will take me and what the world offers.

What has been the most memorable career moment so far?

The most memorable moment of my career so far was walking in the Balmain fashion show. I felt so much excitement, love and support from my fellow models, peers and agents, who showed up and watched us walk. I had the best night and felt so encouraged for what the future may look like.
