Bad Bunny: Puerto Rican Latin trap star, style icon.
Bad Bunny will be at the AmericanAirlines Arena on March 14 and March 16.
It has only been three years since Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) came onto the Latin trap scene. And yet it’s so hard to remember a time when his smash collabs with rap and reggaetón’s biggest names weren’t dominating our party playlists. It’s music to sing out loud and dance till you sweat to. And that is only a very small part of why Bad Bunny has achieved astronomical fame (in 2017 alone, he amassed more than 4 billion views on YouTube). More than his music, Bad Bunny represents a generation of artists who do as they damn well please. He’ll paint his nails in a music video and wear tiny sunglasses with outrageous shirts on the red carpet. He’ll buck gender norms and make you question good style. And he’ll do it while delivering a hook that stays with you for days. His first album, X 100PRE (meaning “por siempre” or “forever”), featuring Diplo, Drake and a Ricky Martin cameo, dropped over the holidays and earned the kind of praise (singular! fascinating! vibrant!) a young artist can only dream of. Now, el conejo malo arrives in Miami for a sure-to-be-epic run at AmericanAirlines Arena. We can’t wait to dance till we sweat—and also see what he wears next.
