Miami Swim Week is back with even more parties, more celebrities, and of course, many more beautiful bathing suits.

“This bikini made me into a success,” actress Ursula Andress said of the sporty swimsuit she wore in the classic Bond film Dr. No. It could be said that Miami, too, owes a part of its success to the swimsuit, particularly during the month of July, when Swim Week takes over with a host of runway shows, exclusive beach bashes, and poolside parties.
Between July 14 and 19, a number of events will be held around town celebrating swimwear, from the teeny-weeny bikini to the more modest maillot. Over at W South Beach, SwimMiami and IMG’s collaborative set of runway presentations feature must-see shows by Frankies Bikinis, Indah, and Gottex. Elsewhere, Swim Week veterans Luli Fama and Maaji will be walking their latest styles down the runways inside the Funkshion Swim Miami Beach tents in Collins Park.
The Swimwear Association of Florida’s SwimShow, the largest trade show in the world, takes over the Miami Beach Convention Center July 16 through 19. With over 2,000 designers and brands, and a variety of new events and services, the exhibition is not to be missed. Says Executive Director Judy Stein, “We’re incorporating amenities such as a dry and braid bar, a nail salon for quick touch-ups, a henna bar, up-to-the-minute social media engagement, and more. We’re really excited.” Miami Swim Week, July 14–19. Swimwear Association of Florida’s SwimShow, July 16–19, Miami Beach Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Dr.
