Let’s face it. Getting work done is no easy feat in the Magic City, where glistening sunshine, blue skies and sandy shores are beckoning. We live where people vacation, so naturally we’ve found a way to blend the corporate nine to five with poolside lounging, all while being both productive and relaxed. Sure, there are ample coffee shops with high-speed Wi-Fi competing for your attention, but we only have one thing on our mind—and that’s soaking in the rays, laptop in hand and toes in the water.

The W Miami is perfectly situated in the heart of Brickell, otherwise known as the Manhattan of the South and rightfully so. The longest pool complex in Miami, WET Deck Pool on the 15th floor offers an expansive reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city’s financial district, while still providing a comfortable setting from nine to five. The three pools, consisting of an Olympic-size lap pool, reflection pool and hot tub (which feels like a pool), overlook the Miami River and are usually teeming with young professionals. Another perk of the W Miami is its shared amenities with Icon Brickell—a luxury residential development located on the same grounds—so you know that real people live, work and play here, beyond just vacationers.

Primely located in the center of Mary Brickell Village, where sidewalk cafes, shops and bars reign supreme, SLS Lux is a corporate hotspot for young adults. It’s another mixed-use building, meaning you’ll be in the company of plenty of other remote workers whose office space is their Brickell residence. The Altitude LUX Pool Deck on the 9th floor boasts a 75-foot lap pool and a 112-foot beach entry pool, lined by cabanas, palm trees and ample shade. If you find yourself hungry after hitting send all morning, there’s a poolside bar with a food and drinks menu just steps away. And you don't even have to wait until the clock strikes five to partake in the SLS Lux happy hour for $10 cocktails.

Across the bridge lies the Kimpton EPIC Hotel, a Downtown oasis for the business-minded folk. Sprawl out on one of the many private cabanas and daybeds surrounding the two pools on the 16th-floor deck. The combined water and city views ensure every preference is satisfied; not to mention, a rooftop pool is as close to a high-rise office space as it gets—minus the enclosed walls and frigid AC. Area 31 shares the Kimpton EPIC terrace and has its own outdoor lounge space, complete with cushy couches and bar seating for when socialization calls.

The iconic pool at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables is a luxurious experience in its own right. Built in 1926, the resort is a National Historic Landmark with a storied past of entertaining society’s elite. Glimpse up from your laptop screen and lock eyes with 600,000 gallons of sparkling water, surrounded by opulent Mediterranean architecture. Cabanas are a focal point here, with Suite and Deluxe options, and come equipped with flat-screen TVs, chaises and loveseats, a banana leaf ceiling fan and outdoor rain showers. You’ll even be waited on by a personal Cascade Server. How’s that for a poolside office?

For an authentic tropical workspace, set up shop at The Setai pool in Miami Beach. The three infinity pools at this five-star resort run parallel to the ocean and each have individually set temperatures. Enjoy water and towel service, as well as high-speed Wi-Fi, for the ultimate blissful work day, and catch a sunrise or sunset if you find yourself working overtime. It’s safe to say that working here takes the edge off for when your boss hits you with a tad too many “please fix” emails.
