Bikinis, one-pieces, cover-ups, hats and beach bags, Miami Swim Week 2021 was one for the books! The four-day celebration of designers both new and old swept the Miami and fashion community off their feet with many events, runway shows and activations. The weekend consisted of models hitting the catwalk at classic Miami Beach locations, celebrating all the amazing new collections. We have rounded up some of the weekend's most stand-out moments!
Ocean Drive Magazine kicked off Miami Swim Week with a wonderful party and runway show hosted by July/August Swim Issue cover star Devon Windsor (@devwindsor). Models walked across the picturesque Ocean Drive runway in looks from Beachbunny Swimwear, Notorious Swimwear and S-Mode.

On Saturday evening, 57-year-old model Kathy Jacobs (@ageisbeauty), strutted her way down one of the most iconic runways in swimwear. The 5’3 model walked the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit show, defying all odds and stereotypes, playing true to her Instagram handle, “Age is Beauty.” Jacobs is both the oldest and shortest Sports Illustrated Rookie of the Year in all of SI history, but that did not stop her from walking alongside models Jasmine Sanders, Brooks Nader, Haley Kalil and more. Sports Illustrated and PARAISO Miami Beach hosted this star-studded event at Baia Beach Club at Mondrian South Beach.
Designer Jonathan Simkhai and PARAISO Miami Beach brought his new collection to life during a beautiful presentation at Joia Beach Club on Thursday. With a variety of colorways and beautiful patterns, Simkhai’s modern approach to swimwear classics was perfect. From every detail, all the way to some of the collections starred colors, including neon yellow, green and baby blue, every piece left the audience wanting more. Breathtaking dresses with the most flattering cutouts and open backs, accessorized with jaw-dropping hats and bags that you will most definitely need on your next beach vacation!
This year’s Swim Week was also a first for many brands and models. Online retailer, boohoo and boohooMan participated in its first-ever Miami Swim Week with PARAISO Miami Beach. Their show featured a lively and fun performance from rapper Ty Dolla Sign and models walked the runway at the glamorous Villa Casa Casuarina at the Versace Mansion. And Miami-based, Nalu Swimwear set to the stage for the first time as well, featuring beautiful designs and colorful metallic swimsuits. Famed TikTok star and Wilhelmina model, Olivia Ponton (@olivia.ponton), walked both new shows alongside many others for her first Swim Week.
The CAMILLA show, held at the Faena Forum, captured the audience right from the start. The collection is fueled by absolutely breathtaking prints from head to toe. The models stunned the runway in both colorful and idyllic prints in swimsuits, cover-ups, dresses, pants and bags, and not to mention jaw-dropping blue sparkly boots.
And of course, the Miami-based and Miami Swim Week classic, Luli Fama did not disappoint. Kicking off the show with a dance performance, setting the tone for the show of beautiful, colorful, patterned and multi-toned swimsuits and resortwear.
