Does your current beauty arsenal need an upgrade? These latest cosmetics will amp up your makeup bag and help you stand out in the crowd at Miami’s most popular spots. Here’s where to wear your new products…
Diorshow Colour & Contour Eyeshadow & Liner Duo in Iris, Dior ($33). Saks Fifth Avenue, Bal Harbour Shops, 305-865-1100
As the owner of Miami’s LIV and Story, David Grutman knows how to get partygoers to line up outside his nightclubs. The same goes for Komodo (801 Brickell Ave., Miami, 305-534-2211), his brand-new modern Asian restaurant. The welcoming, 17,000-square-foot space is furnished with warm-colored accents and tinted lighting, so the best way to get noticed among the glamorous guests (like Gigi and Bella Hadid) is with a contrasting makeup palette. Your eyes will pop in a sea of red décor with Dior’s limited-edition eye duo in Iris, which includes a frosty, purple-gray shadow on one end and a dramatic, midnight blue liner on the other.
New Dimension Plump + Fill Expert Lip Treatment, Estée Lauder ($42). Bloomingdale’s, Aventura Mall, 305-792-1000
Bâoli (1906 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 305-674-8822) made our list of Miami’s sexiest restaurants for its beautiful crowd, club-like ambiance, and raucous My Boyfriend Is Out of Town Wednesday-night parties. Prep for a light meal followed by a night of dancing and popping bottles with this new lip treatment from Estée Lauder. The two-step regimen starts with a filler serum that defines the contours of your lips, followed by a plumping balm to hydrate: your fuller pout will bring you straight to the front of the line.
Glossy Stain Pop Water La Laque Couture in Rouge Wet, Yves Saint Laurent ($27). Saks Fifth Avenue, Bal Harbour Shops, 866-582-6542
When Stephen Starr announced that he would bring his famous Philly restaurant to Miami, we knew The Continental’s (2360 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 305-604-2000) retro vibe and scrumptious small plates would fit right in our dining scene. With rave-worthy happy hours and weekend brunches, there’s no time like the present to try it (or try it again). Match the eatery’s vibrant atmosphere with YSL’s new Pop Water nail colors. The sheer, ultra-glossy polishes can be worn alone or over another shade to brighten things up for your sure-to-be-amazing meal.
Lash Tips Mascara in Burnished Gold, Tom Ford Beauty ($45). Neiman Marcus, Village of Merrick Park, Coral Gables, 786-999-1000
Its subtle opulence—not to mention arguably the best classic cocktails in Miami—make a visit to The Regent Cocktail Club (1690 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 786-975-2555) a special occasion of sorts, and that calls for a daring makeup move. Our pick? Tom Ford’s unexpected and alluring gold mascara. After applying your everyday mascara, use the mini brush to paint the tips of your lashes a sparkling, brassy gold.
Sunkiss Ribbon Blush, Chanel ($70). Bal Harbour Shops, 305-868-0550
Brought to you by the team behind Bâoli, Miami’s new cabaret club isn’t your average dinner theater destination. The scene at El Tucán (1111 SW First Ave., Miami, 305-535-0065) is as extravagant as the food and drinks, and the rare performance by Havana’s El Tropicana de Cuba on New Year’s Eve gave locals high expectations for what’s to come. Once you reserve your seat at an upcoming showing, vow to look the part with bold makeup. Chanel’s limited-edition blush combines pink, beige, and coral hues for a vivid cheek that blends in easily.
Color of the Year Layer Lipstick in Rose Quartz, Sephora + Pantone Universe ($18). sephora.com
If there’s one place in Miami where you can get away with just about any lip color, it’s Basement Miami at The Miami Beach Edition (2901 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 786-641-7119). This playful venue features bowling, ice skating, killer dance parties, and an overall “express yourself” attitude. The limited-edition Color of the Year layer lipstick in Rose Quartz lets you do just that. Blend with a lipstick you already own to create a completely new, pastel pink color and provide extra hydration.
