Joe’s Stone Crab is one of Miami’s most quintessential restaurants. For the last century, Joe’s has been serving the Miami community some of the best stone crabs, and for its 112th season this year, Joe’s is kicking it up a notch. Returning this season will be its classic first-come-first-served seating arrangements and the opportunity to join the Maitre D’s List up to one week before priority seating. With improved access, locals can now indulge in its classics and new starters, mains, and desserts, exclusively debuting on Oct. 17. You’ll want to pinch yourself because, at Michael’s Genuine, stone crabs are the real deal. For the past decade, James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Schwartz has worked diligently alongside local fisherman Captain J. Bruns to provide guests with some of the best stone crabs in town, and this season Captain Bruns predicts it will be a plentiful one. Following the trap-to-table philosophy, Captain J. Bruns removes the middleman by boiling the shellfish as soon as they’re caught, then brings them directly to Michael’s Genuine, where they are served on ice with a housemade mustard sauce and green sambal for a kick.
