“In the summer of 2020, a massive fish kill took place on the bay due to lack of oxygen in the water. Among the mass of dead fish, I found a dead manatee, while walking with my younger daughter and son along the bay. Angry and saddened by this experience, I thought there had to be something big I could do to help," said Turk. "The next morning as I was sipping my morning coffee and looking out at the bay the idea struck. Biscayne Coffee was born."
The eco-friendly brand is donating 10% of all of its sales to the Biscayne Bay Foundation, a nonprofit organization that focuses on preserving the waterways of the bay by increasing awareness of their health and safety.
The product line of locally roasted, gourmet coffee includes:
Biscayne Blend Dark Roast: The brand’s signature blend originating from Indonesia, Central, and South America that features notes of dark chocolate, raspberry, and sugar cane.
Biscayne Single Origin Colombia: A medium roast blend from the South of Huila with hints of orange, caramel, and milk chocolate.
Biscayne Blend Light Roast: A lightly roasted coffee blend with a citrusy and complex aroma featuring flavors of grapefruit, apple, hazelnuts and caramel.
Biscayne Coffee can be found as the official coffee in 42 Tangy Management vacation rentals throughout South Florida and is also the sponsor of the “Good Morning Hospitality” podcast and “Morning brew” newsletter.
