'Riverdale' Star Camila Mendes on Season 3 & Her Styling Tips

Mirror mirror… on the wall, who's the sleekest of them all? That would be Riverdale star Camila Mendes.

The great equalizer—whether you’re a Hollywood “it” girl or an average Jane—is that cringeworthy high school headshot. “My driver’s license picture is so embarrassing,” says Camila Mendes. “I would straighten my hair and as soon as I got to school, it would puff. It was the worst!” Then the Brazilian beauty discovered John Frieda Frizz Ease and the the rest is, well, sleek-hair history. Now a spokeswoman for the brand, Mendes is sharing her styling tips, plus dropping a few Riverdale season three spoilers.

On Stereotypes...
“Brazilians love maintenance and take pride in it. It’s their everything, so I feel like that’s what I inherited. I love getting my nails and hair done, and going to get massages.”

On the Most Liberating Things She's Ever Done...
“Shooting an editorial with zero makeup. It was crazy because a good camera shows everything. But at the end of the day, who is going to judge me? Nobody has perfect skin. If I can inspire younger women to own their own beauty and be natural, then why not?”

On Faking Eight Hours...
“When I want to look fresh and like I get more sleep than I actually do, I’ll put on Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation, brush my brows with Glossier Boy Brow and put on a little mascara.”

On Camila vs. Veronica...
“I share a sense of confidence and pride that Veronica has, and I definitely speak my mind. But Veronica is wittier.”

On Superheroes...
“Veronica gave her dad a taste of his own medicine. In season three, I think it’s going to be more of a concrete rivalry between the villains and the superheroes. And we are the superheroes.”
