Tell me what fans can expect from Rose Cameron in season two of OBX.
You can expect more. The stakes are higher this season, not just for Rose but for every character. We really pick up right where we left off in season one.
She’s said to play a larger role in the second season. Can you talk more about that?
Rose was a bit of an enigma in season one, which I love. I feel like viewers were left to wonder where her loyalty lies… and we definitely fill in a lot of blanks in season two. I can’t say much, but I will say that whenever I got a new script, I would stop whatever I was doing to read it. I remember getting the finale while I was driving and pulling off and reading it in a Target parking lot. It was pretty thrilling to watch her grow with each episode.

Will season two dive into Rose’s upbringing as a Pogue more?
I feel like Rose’s upbringing as a Pogue is always right below the surface of her decision-making. We saw it in some of her more desperate moments in the end of season one, and it only grows in season two. I think it’s one of the things that draws Rose and Ward together… the trappings of wealth and what they’ll do to keep it, having grown up without it.
What are you most excited about with the premiere of season two?
Sharing it with everyone! My husband runs lines with me sometimes to help me prep, but he loves the show so I tried not to spoil any major moments for him this season. I’d call him on my way home from work and be like, “I can’t wait to tell you what happened today! ... Oh, wait, never mind, that’s a spoiler.”
Plans for a third season?
We won’t know until we know. I’m trying to live in the moment, but if you’re reading this and you want season three, stream, stream, stream!
Any new projects in the works?
I’m about to start volunteer training at the Atlanta Humane Society. Right now we have two rescues at home, one dog and one cat. Let’s see how many I have the next time we talk.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Work for me usually means travel and crazy hours, so when I’m not working I really love being home with my husband and pets and family… watching either high-quality scripted television or reality TV. I’m an OK cook, but I feel like I really shine in the cocktail-making department. To be fair, I really only make margaritas and I don’t make them quickly… but if you like tequila and aren’t in a rush, I’m a great bartender. @carolinearapoglou
