The Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year, officially begins on February 1. The festivities commence with the Spring Festival and end with the Lantern Festival on February 15.
From delicious cuisine, dance performances and a sense of community, this is a celebration that you don’t want to miss. Across Miami and beyond, a wide variety of events are happening to celebrate the Year of The Tiger and we have rounded up some of the must-attends.

Miami’s beloved Asian food hall is excited to bring back its annual Chinese New Year celebrations. In honor of the holiday, the restaurant has put together some impressive specials including a dim sum cart from Gold Marquess' offspring, Yip which includes all the delicious dumplings imaginable alongside a special Tiger Boba Tea. For the diner looking for something to spice up their night, look no further than the celebratory Crouching Tiger cocktail. The evening will include delicious food, drinks and music with Jarobi White hitting the DJ booth starting at 7 p.m.

The Miami Design District is excited to gather at Palm Court to celebrate the new year. The event begins at 5:30 p.m., and will include eye-catching lion dancers, who will dance their way through the Design District, concluding in Paradise Plaza.

Phuc Yea is ringing in the Year of The Tiger with celebrations including good food and fun performances. The evening is priced at $65 per person and includes a five-station meal, open bar, live DJ and amazing lion dancers. The prix fixe menu explores some classic dishes including Smacked Cucumbers, Singaporean Style Veggie Fried Rice and Pulled Pork Phuc Yea Style. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the lion dance performance takes the stage at 8:45 p.m.

Awareness into Action and Morningside Watersports are excited about their event which will help commemorate the new year while partaking in sound-healing, acupressure and meditation surrounded by a bonfire. These activities were strategically chosen to help event-goers with grounding and releasing, while also feeling a sense of joy, renewal and nurturance, ahead of the new moon. Tickets are priced from $15 - $30, with the event running from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Bringing the celebrations into the weekend, on February 5, Coconut Grove is exciting for a food crawl and celebration for the new year. The crawl includes stops at eight of Coconut Grove’s hottest restaurant concepts including, Minty Z, Planta Queen, Saffron at Grove, Salt & Straw, Chill N Nitrogen Ice Cream, Morelia Gourmet Paletas and Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop. In addition to food, entertainment for the evening includes a variety of multicultural live performances from local talent.
