THE CONFIDANTE MIAMI BEACH HOTEL DEBUTS AHOL SNIFFS GLUE’S NEWEST EXHIBITION, ON LOCATION, TURNING STREET CRAFT INTO FINE ART.

For centuries, the scope of fine art has been trapped within the bounds of a canvas, leaving little room for the appreciation of artistic expression that graces our daily surroundings. With societal norms hindering the presence of rebelliousness and disobedience, we become numb to an abundance of innovation which we have been conditioned to ignore. As graffiti art has been a beautiful victim of this habitual repression, The Confidante Miami Beach partners with Wynwood’s Museum of Graffiti (@museumofgraffiti) to create the Museum of Graffiti Beachside—a quarterly rotating local art residency aiming to break the stigma of this concept while expanding creativity as a whole.

“Our mission is to celebrate Miami culture with our community and create authentic, vibrant experiences for our guests from around the world,” says Becca Tash, director of marketing at The Confidante Miami Beach.

The most recent rotation features Miami-based graffiti artist Ahol Sniffs Glue (@aholsniffsglue), as the new-fashioned hotel premieres his exhibition On Location. Spending a week tucked inside of the oceanfront oasis, the artist birthed a lineup of pieces inspired by the retro-glam hotel vibe within an impressive seven-day period.

“The exhibit titled On Location is inspired by my experience and residency at The Confidante as I created this body of work in real time from The Confidante’s unique 1930s House,” says Ahol Sniffs Glue.

Through vibrant colors and unique techniques, the graffiti guru crafted an edgy-yet-elegant gallery experience for guests to explore. Each piece is branded with his emblematic floating eye, challenging the minds of viewers by encouraging out-of-the-box interpretations.

The collaborative series of events honor those who are disrupting the industry while sparking progressive conversations.
