Crusoe Cabana Deluxe, a new restaurant and lounge recently opened in Wynwood, is the White Feather Management Group's latest addition. This one-of-a-kind restaurant features many elements mixed delightfully together, eliciting reactions and making every visitor feel like a sailor. The venue's name alludes to the acclaimed literary classic "Robinson Crusoe." The décor is intended to transport guests back to the 1700s, where they will meet up with Robinson Crusoe on a remote tropical desert island embarking on an enticing adventure. Particularly a culinary and sensory journey inspired by the famous novel.
There are plenty of "wow" items to look at, from a massive mermaid suspended overhead in the dining room to chandeliers and murals that will transport you to a world where you are shipwrecked. Crusoe's delightful dishes are uniquely presented, paired with the appropriate music and lighting to create an atmosphere straight out of Crusoe's odyssey.
Those who are seafood lovers should prepare their palate as they indulge in delicious dishes like Tiger's Milk Oysters, Don't Be Shellfish (a cold house sampler), and the SoFISHticated (whole fried red snapper for two, matched with house coleslaw and tostones), or the SEAreal Griller (also for two, a grilled assortment of shrimp, clams, black mussels, scallops, and daily catch an award-winning green sauce). Crusoe's diverse menu features many reimagined versions of popular favorites, and the Peruvian-Portuguese heritage is evident in the menu created by Chef Karlos Rodriguez Spranger.
Crusoe is the place to go if you enjoy craft cocktails. The restaurant features 12 unique "potions were crafted with curiosity." In addition, there is a fully stocked bar with all libations and call brands. For those who like to eat late, a "Drunk Late Menu" is available beginning at 11:30 p.m., featuring select menu items. And for Hookah enthusiasts, there is also a little something for you.
"We put a lot into the concepts we create. From the décor to the food, mixology, and the music. We want those who visit our locations to have a full-blown sensory experience," said CEO Nicolas Hoyos.
Hoyos explained that this is also why he and his partners worked with another experienced team. "We decided to work with Fred and Igor Niznik of The Butcher Shop as we wanted to bring something completely different to the area, but with someone who understands Wynwood. We think Crusoe is a great spot for those wanting a chic yet relaxed experience."
Guests can also expect special events, entertainment, and everyone's "favorite meal." The restaurant will soon offer a "Sunken Brunch" on Saturdays and Sundays. White Feather Management Group invites all-new "castaways" to pay a visit for an "unchartered dinner party experience."
Crusoe is located at 165 NW 23 St. For more information, visit the website.
