Kenneth Jay Lane's final collection with Tory Burch is an ode to timeless glamour.
It was only a matter of time before deep-rooted friends Tory Burch and Kenneth Jay Lane decided to combine their master-ofdesign minds. For Burch’s inception collection 13 years ago, Lane wove a lovely thread of jewels to fashion the line with Burch’s trademark double T. Their next opportunity to link up came this fall season, but sadly, the beloved Lane passed away before launching the Kenneth Jay Lane for Tory Burch collection. Lane’s designs have adorned everyone from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to Beyoncé, so each of the eight pieces in the capsule is as precious as the next. Our favorite is the dragonfly pin, which grasps the spirit of Burch’s inspiration: Katharine Hepburn’s unforgettable character in The Philadelphia Story. With as much beauty as the pieces deliver, the collection also marks a personal loss for the designer. Lane’s impression upon her is no better illustrated than by Burch’s eponymous brand. “When we started, I didn’t want to use my name... Kenny pulled me aside and said, ‘Use your full name,’” recounts Burch. “And he was right.”
